As traditional and old-fashioned it sounds, we are still taught to not show and feel our emotions. Thus, creating generations of frustrated men passing down trauma. In this film, I want to offer a peek at what happens in our character’s mind, from denial to acceptance.
Eaux Troubles/ troubled waters is an exploration of a lost youth looking for answers everywhere, and sometimes in the wrong places. From dark places to submerging yourself in a cold body of water, to feel something, to come back to yourself.
Eaux Troubles/ troubled waters is a film about a man either running away from or chasing himself, depending on your perspective.
My intention was, and still is, to explore the always-oscillating spectrum on which men navigate between violence/anger and the refuted need for tenderness, understanding and love.
Thank you for watching.
With love.
