His background is in practical filmmaking, live visuals and motion graphics. He has directed and animated many highly acclaimed films and won one ADC'E Gold, three Silver Awards at Vuoden Huiput, Vuoden Juniori at Vuoden Huiput and a Vimeo Staff Pick. He has also been heavily involved in Helsinki's club scene, by making live visuals, interactive installations, event flyers and organising Retriitti and Dept. events. He's a co-founder of Veli.

Driven by his interest in new technologies and a constant hunger for innovation, Matti Vilho has always been at the forefront. For Stormzy's Rockstar Live project, he served as Art Director and Technical Director, leading a 10-person 3D team and overseeing the transfer of Stormzy's character to Unreal Engine.

Veli artist Matti Vilho along with Spekki Webu have restaged their cutting-edge audiovisual live experience: Signal Transmutations for ADE. Having previously showcased the work at De School and Lunchmeat Festival, the duo have redeveloped the work to specifically accommodate the monumental scale of the visual surface at Nxt Museum in Amsterdam. Signal Transmutations is an invitation to explore the depths of your subconsciousness. It is a show featuring a unique blend of experimental electronic music & avant-garde visual elements.

Along a sold-out showcase, Matti and Spekki also gave an audiovisual masterclass as part of the ADE Lab Course for the Visual Arts Course.
